Between 2002-03 and 2006-07, Anena have identified 226 people totally buried,
localized either by their companions or professional rescue teams. 88 of the 226 victims have survived:
34 of the 55 victims were found due to signs on the surface (accessories or part of the victim being visible)
34 of the 94 victims were found thanks to DVA or ARVA (transceiver)
20 of the 77 victims were found by organized search, dogs and other emergency professionals.

In the event of an avalanche, in one movement the FLASH-AVALANCHE system is activated and instantly releases 4 x 10m rolls of ribbon, of which one end remains attached to the victim.
The ribbons which are light and strong are scattered close to the victim thereby considerable increasing the possibilities of visual localization.
In order to find the exact location of a victim you follow the ribbons and then use a snow probe and shovel to free them quickly..

Depending on the weather conditions, the snow coverage and the landscape the visibility of the ribbons can vary.
For the users of transceivers (DVA or ARVA) the FLASH-AVALANCHE can be the deciding visual assistance needed:
It saves energy and time in the case of large or poorly accessible landscapes, multiple victims, or when the battery is discharges. An already stressful situation can be made worse by the poorly organized search procedures of the companions.
45% of the people who died in an avalanche had a transceiver which was switched on!
Without the visual clues the transceivers, probes and shovels remain crucial to locate a victim.

Ready to use, the patented FLASH-AVALANCHE system does not use any energy, does not create interference and needs no particular maintenance.
Everyone can locate the victim quickly thanks to the visual and intuitive search of the clues on the surface of the avalanche.
The FLASH-AVALANCHE system is small and light
( 85 x 70 x 40 mm, 175 g) it is made up of :
- a cartridge containing 4x 10m ribbons.
(woven polyester, 15mm wide, red)
- A release tag.
- A neoprene pouch which holds and protects the cartridge.
- A strap (polyester) with buckle to tighten and maintain on the forearm.
The FLASH-AVALANCHE system is to be place on the wrist over clothes (or glove) so that the release tag is accessible above the hand.
The FALSH-AVALANCHE system is maintained in place thanks to the adjustable strap.
